今日は昨日に引き続き、木曽出張への情報共有です。
今回は機械で作る寿司桶のメーカーです。
機械で作るとはいっても、それぞれ各場所で人の手が必要です。
これは陶器でも言えることですが、ほとんど機械というのはまだまだ難しいです。
まずは除湿乾燥機です。
こちらの方もこの除湿が一番大事と言っておりました。
蒸気を出しながら30%から6%まで乾燥させます。
建築系は12%らしいのですが、桶など精度が狂わないよう6%以下までにしているそうです。
その次は均等に切断して大きさを整え、ボンドでくっつけます。
その後、内側と外側を削り出して大きさを揃えます。
そして銅の留め具をはめ込みます。
今はステンレスもありますが、銅の方が曲げやすいそうです。
ちなみに桶にサワラが利用されている理由は、木曽のサワラは程よく湿気を吸うからだそうです。
檜の場合、お米に匂いがつくから使えません。
何でもかんでも檜がよいわけではありませんので注意してくださいね。
木の性質をちゃんと考えられています。
その後は底蓋を取り付けて、仕上げのヤスリをかけて完成です。
